Job summary

Bell & Associates, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function and be a key member of the leadership team. This role blends strategic financial oversight with day-to-day accounting in a growing, project-driven services firm.

Responsibilities include overseeing AP/AR/payroll, month-end close, tax and audits, and evaluating project profitability, with hybrid flexibility after an initial onsite period. Base salary up to $130,000 plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Controller with leadership experience in a project-based environment.
• Strong experience with WIP, % complete and project accounting.
• Experience leading and developing an accounting team.
• Solid month-end close and financial reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accounting team
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll and month-end close
• Manage reconciliations, financial reporting, taxes and audit
• Oversee WIP and percentage-of-completion accounting
• Analyze project profitability and financial performance
• Partner with operations and project leadership
• Support collections and other accounting needs as they arise
• Improve accounting processes, controls and reporting
• Participate as a member of the leadership team
• Help support continued business growth and process improvements
