Job summary

Engineering Resources, Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function for a mid-sized engineering consulting firm. You will manage month-end close, financial reporting, project accounting, billing, and cash flow with an emphasis on controls and accuracy.

The role requires 8+ years in accounting leadership, GAAP expertise, and experience with project-based environments. Strong Excel skills and ERP experience (Unanet) are essential for success and growth within the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience in a controller/leadership role.
• Experience managing daily accounting workflows and project-based accounting.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Excel and reporting skills; ability to translate data into business insights.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
• Oversee project accounting, billing, revenue recognition, and WIP monitoring.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, budgets, and forecasts with firm principals.
• Ensure tax, payroll, regulatory compliance and coordinate with external CPA firm.
• Lead internal controls improvements and streamline processes using Unanet ERP.
