A growing, privately held services company is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function and serve as a key member of the leadership team.

The Role

The Controller will oversee the accounting function, lead a small team, and partner closely with operational leadership. This individual will need to be comfortable moving between strategic financial oversight and day-to-day accounting when needed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and develop the accounting team
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll and month-end close
• Manage reconciliations, financial reporting, taxes and audit
• Oversee WIP and percentage-of-completion accounting
• Analyze project profitability and financial performance
• Partner with operations and project leadership
• Support collections and other accounting needs as they arise
• Improve accounting processes, controls and reporting
• Participate as a member of the leadership team
• Help support continued business growth and process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Strong WIP, percentage-of-completion and project accounting experience
• Background in construction, contracting, or another project-based environment preferred
• Experience leading and developing an accounting team
• Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience
• Comfortable being hands-on across the accounting function
• Experience in a small to midsize company environment
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
• Formal accounting training required; degree preferred but experience will be valued heavily
• ERP experience required; NetSuite experience is a plus
• Upto $130,000 base salary
