Job summary

Join S&ME in Atlanta, GA as a Construction Materials Project Engineer. You will manage projects through their lifecycle, oversee field teams, and ensure safety, quality, and client service.

The role requires a Civil/Geotechnical background with 4+ years in CMT/SI, EIT is required, PE preferred. Excellent communication and reporting skills are essential, with opportunities for growth and industry involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection (SI).
• EIT certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or the ability to obtain within the future.
• Active ICC, ACI, and DOT certifications, a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, DOT standards, and IBC Special Inspections requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to develop, review, and deliver accurate technical reports and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Direct CMT and Special Inspection assignments throughout all stages, overseeing budgets, timelines, staffing, and technical activities.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project teams through regular communication, meetings, and site visits.
• Coach technicians and engineering staff to promote technical accuracy and quality workmanship.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, scopes, and fee estimates to meet client expectations and schedules.
• Support business growth by strengthening client partnerships and engaging in industry activities.
