Job summary

S&M is seeking a Construction Materials Project Engineer in Atlanta, GA. The role involves hands-on project management from planning through completion, ensuring quality, safety, and client service on construction materials projects.

You will lead field teams, review technical documentation, and collaborate with clients and contractors to deliver results that meet industry standards. This is a full-time position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a related Engineering discipline is required.
• 4+ years of professional experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection (SI) is preferred.
• EIT certification is required; PE license is preferred or obtainable in future.

Responsibilities

• Direct CMT and Special Inspection assignments through all stages, managing budgets, timelines, staffing and technical activities.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project teams via regular meetings and site visits to ensure expectations are met and progress is on track.
• Supervise inspection and testing activities, review field reports, and mentor technicians and engineering staff for accuracy and quality.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, project scopes, and fee estimates to meet client expectations and schedules.
• Engage in business development, strengthen client partnerships, and participate in professional organizations to expand the local market.
