Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) invites applications for Summer 2027 Internships in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related fields. Interns will work with engineers and technicians on construction materials testing, field observations, and real-world projects.

Participants gain mentorship, cross-disciplinary exposure, and networking opportunities within a 100% employee-owned engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related degree.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
• Additional miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.
