Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) is seeking motivated interns for Summer 2027 across Engineering, Geology, and Environmental Science disciplines. Interns will gain hands-on experience in construction materials testing, field observations, and real-world project involvement.

Work with respected engineers, receive mentorship, and participate in cross-disciplinary exposure. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and professional growth within a 100% employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related degree
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment (gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, concrete cylinder testing)
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials (concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, reinforcing steel)
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at worksites
• Additional miscellaneous assignments as needed

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
