Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) invites applications for Summer 2027 Internships in engineering, geology, and environmental science. Interns will work alongside our engineers and technicians on construction materials testing and field observations, applying classroom learning to real-world projects.

This paid internship offers mentorship, cross-disciplinary exposure across geotechnical, environmental, and construction disciplines, and opportunities for professional growth in a 100%

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related degree.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment (gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing).
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials (concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, reinforcing steel).
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
• Additional miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.
