Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) invites students pursuing Civil Engineering or Geotechnical fields to join our Summer 2027 Internship program. You will work with engineers and technicians on testing procedures, field observations, and real-world projects in construction materials testing.

This paid internship offers mentorship, hands-on learning, and cross-disciplinary exposure across geotechnical, environmental, and construction teams in field environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related degree.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
• Additional miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.
