Job summary
Unknown is seeking a controls engineer to advance maintenance and optimization of PLC/SCADA-based material handling systems in a fast-paced facility. You’ll diagnose complex issues, implement preventive strategies, and collaborate with site teams on uptime and safety.
The role requires PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley), familiarity with RSLogix 5000, and SCADA monitoring, with flexible shifts including weekends as needed.
Qualifications
- Two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
- Minimum 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Control Systems troubleshooting/programming.
- Experience with conveyors and sortation systems is a plus.
- Proficient in PLC programming, robotics components and SCADA-based monitoring and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by complying with codes and regulations related to system operations and safety.
- Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC controllers).
- Escalate and repair MHE controls software on-site and remotely, including after hours.
- Inspect systems to ensure operation within design tolerances and client requirements.
- Coordinate development scope, work requests, scheduling, and inspections with outside contractors.
