Job summary

Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis - USA is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to optimize material handling and automation systems. You’ll work with PLCs, RSLogix/ControlLogix, and SCADA to improve reliability and performance across conveyors and sortation platforms.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, on-site and remote escalation, and coordinating with contractors while maintaining safety and uptime. A bachelor’s degree and hands-on PLC/SCADA experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of relevant experience; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent.
• Experience in two engineering design cycles including specification, selection, and programming.
• 2+ years PLC programming, robotics components, and SCADA-based monitoring/control.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to solve problems independently with minimal supervision.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000).
• Serve as first level escalation on-site and remotely, during and after business hours.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation within design capabilities and client targets.
• Oversee work by outside contractors including upgrades and maintenance of specialized systems.
• Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to network implementation.
• Monitor industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I) and equipment metrics.
• Communicate with leadership, operations, and maintenance on issues, timelines, and impacts.
• Perform controls system assessments to maintain and improve equipment reliability.
