Confidential is seeking a hands-on Director of Compliance for a Boston-area role focused on affordable housing regulatory compliance across a diverse portfolio. The candidate partners with property management, development, and asset teams to ensure day-to-day compliance, including file audits and certifications.

The role requires staying deeply engaged with filings, audits, and deal structuring, with travel to the Boston office as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in affordable housing compliance including LIHTC, HUD programs, Section 8, PBV, HOME and state programs.
• Strong knowledge of HOTMA, REAC/NSPIRE, EIV, MOR, and RHIIP requirements.
• Experience partnering with development or acquisitions teams on compliance structuring for new or repositioned properties.
• Excellent communication and training skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary compliance resource across the portfolio supporting certifications, recertifications, and file audits.
• Partner with development teams through the deal lifecycle to embed compliance in underwriting, closing, lease-up and stabilization.
• Manage compliance across LIHTC, HUD, Section 8/HCV, PBV, HOME and state programs, translating changes into practical guidance.
• Lead MORs and other audits, including preparation, response, and corrective action plans.
• Review tenant files, income certifications, and ensure program compliance across properties.
• Project-manage compliance initiatives, implement new programs, and coordinate cross-team efforts.
• Develop and deliver staff training on compliance requirements and best practices.
• Maintain policies and documentation across programs; liaise with housing finance agencies, HUD and regulators.
