Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, design custom splints, and develop recovery plans in collaboration with the care team.

Qualifying candidates have 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab, hold a current PT or OT license, and credentials including CHT and CPR/BLS. On-site work with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy experience.
• Current state PT or OT license; CHT credential.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Direct and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions; educate patients on wear, care and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions; provide scar management, edema control, wound care, return-to-work rehab as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals; participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
