Job summary

The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA seeks an experienced Barber to deliver services to our guests in a luxury spa setting, adhering to established standards to ensure a five-star guest experience.

You will maintain impeccably clean salon stations, follow all protocols and checklists, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and the ability to stay organized in a busy environment while working independently.

Qualifications

• A current, valid state Barber/Cosmetology license recognized by the California Board.
• Barber/Cosmetology training from a recognized cosmetology school.
• At least two years experience in an upscale spa operation.
• Excellent English communication and legible printing required.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 20 pounds for long shifts.

The Barber is responsible for guest satisfaction in the spa by performing services according to the established spa standards. The Barber will maintain the cleanliness of the salon stations in a professional manner at all times and follow all established protocols and checklists to ensure a five star level of service is consistently maintained.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

• A current, valid state Barber/Cosmetology license recognized by the governing board of California.


• Barber/Cosmetology training at a recognized cosmetology school


• At least two years experience in an upscale spa operation


• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine guest service orientation


• Ability to remain calm and organized in busy environment


• Work independently with a high sense of integrity.


• High school level reading, writing and mathematical skills. Excellent communication skills in English and able to print legibly


• Physically able to stand, bend, lean, and walk for up to 10 hours. Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
