Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage patient procedures, pre-admission testing, and follow-up communications. The role handles multiple scheduling systems, coordinates staff and resources, and ensures accurate patient demographics and referrals.

Responsibilities include liaising with internal departments, obtaining preauthorizations, and coordinating equipment delivery for procedures. Prior experience in healthcare scheduling and office software is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for procedures, post-operative appointments, testing, surgery, follow up and wait list process.
• Notifies patients in-person and via mail of scheduled procedures with complete details.
• Maintains scheduling and patient data across multiple systems; coordinates resources and staff.
• Communicates schedules daily and updates staff on revisions.
• Acts as liaison to internal departments and external resources and agencies.
• Coordinates preauthorization and referrals for procedures; ensures paperwork is complete.
• Contracts with vendors to coordinate equipment delivery and ensures resources for procedures.
