EsteemIT is seeking a Software Development Lead for a 6- to 12-month contract in Hartford, CT with hybrid onsite work. The role focuses on leading development and configuration of software systems across the lifecycle, leveraging Guidewire PolicyCenter and Java to deliver client solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess expert Guidewire knowledge, design innovative solutions, and mentor a project team while collaborating with multiple departments to align on goals and drive performance.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Guidewire PolicyCenter knowledge is required.
• Guidewire Advanced Product Designer is recommended.
• Strong Java and system design skills.
• Ability to lead cross-team collaboration and mentor others.

Location: Hartford, CT | Hunt Valley, MD | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Duration: 6-12 months

Responsibilities:

• As a Software Development Lead, you will be responsible for developing and configuring software systems either end-to-end or for a specific stage of the product lifecycle.
• You will apply your knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes, and tools to support the project. You are expected to be a subject matter expert, collaborate and manage the team to perform effectively.
• You will be responsible for team decisions, engage with multiple teams, and contribute to key decisions.
• Additionally, you are expected to provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams.
• Expert proficiency in Guidewire PolicyCenter is required.
• Expert proficiency in Guidewire Advanced Product Designer is recommended.
• Advanced proficiency in Design Innovation, GuideWire Integration, and Java is suggested.
• Lead the design and implementation of innovative software solutions that meet client needs.
• Facilitate team meetings to encourage collaboration and ensure alignment on project goals.
• Mentor team members to enhance their skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Analyze project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the development team.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve system performance and user experience.
