Job summary

Fortune 500 client in Hartford, CT or Hunt Valley, MD is seeking a Custom Software Engineer to lead software development and integration across teams. This 12-month contract role focuses on delivering scalable insurance software solutions and hands-on Java development with Guidewire platforms.

You will mentor peers, evaluate new technologies, and ensure design quality while collaborating with multiple squads to meet client needs.

Qualifications

Expert proficiency in Guidewire PolicyCenter is required.
Guidewire Advanced Product Designer proficiency recommended.
Strong Java development skills and Insurance domain knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop and configure software systems end-to-end or for stages of the product lifecycle.
Apply knowledge of technologies, methodologies, processes, and tools to support the project.
Collaborate with teams, mentor members, and participate in key decisions.
Translate requirements into technical specifications and evaluate new technologies.
Lead design and implementation of software solutions meeting client needs.
Facilitate team meetings and ensure alignment on project goals.
Foster continuous improvement within the team and drive quality.
