Job summary

S4 Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled Guidewire Developer to apply advanced insurance domain knowledge and enterprise software development on Guidewire Platform technologies. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing solutions with PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter, customizing with Gosu, and integrating Guidewire with external systems via web services. Prior Guidewire, Java, and CI/CD familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with Guidewire applications such as PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter.
• Proficiency in Gosu programming language.
• Strong understanding of insurance domain concepts (P&C insurance preferred).
• Experience with web services (SOAP/REST) and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.

This position qualifies as a specialty occupation and requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.

Detailed Job Duties

• Design, develop, and implement solutions using Guidewire applications such as PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter
• Customize Guidewire applications using Gosu programming language
• Develop and maintain integrations between Guidewire and external systems using web services and messaging
• Configure business rules, workflows, and data models within Guidewire
• Work on Guidewire Data Model extensions and UI configurations
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning of applications
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to gather and implement requirements
• Support system upgrades, patches, and Guidewire version migrations
• Ensure code quality, security, and adherence to development standards
• Maintain documentation for technical designs and implementations

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent)
• Experience with Guidewire applications such as PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter
• Proficiency in Gosu programming language
• Strong understanding of insurance domain concepts (P&C insurance preferred)
• Experience with web services (SOAP/REST) and integration patterns
• Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server

Preferred Qualifications

• Guidewire certification(s) in relevant modules
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform
• Familiarity with Java and object-oriented programming
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
