Job summary

RTX's Processing, Guidance & Controls Center in Tucson, AZ seeks a Systems Engineer II to develop and validate guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for autonomous systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to integrate and test complex solutions.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ proficiency, and the ability to obtain an Interim DoD clearance. On-site role with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in at least one area: GNC systems, navigation sensors/state estimation/perception, guidance and control algorithms, system modeling and simulation, or test data analysis.
• Ability to obtain an Interim DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, simulate, and evaluate control and navigation algorithms for autonomous systems.
• Build dynamic system models and simulations to evaluate behavior and support design trades.
• Analyze test data to evaluate performance and drive engineering improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and test teams to validate complex systems.
• Develop and apply algorithmic and software tools for controls, signal processing, or performance analysis.
