Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Guest Services Agent in Portland, OR to deliver frontline guest service and manage the front desk systems. You will register guests, answer phones, process payments, and assist with reservations while upholding Sonesta Service standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of hotel or retail experience, fluent English, strong communication, and basic math skills. $17.50–$19.50/hour, with health, retirement, and other benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of hotel or retail customer service experience preferred.
• Hospitality background in extended stay is a plus.
• Fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math, budgeting and percentage skills preferred.
• Problem solving, motivation, organizational and training abilities preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• Physical capability to stand, move items up to 50 pounds, and work mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest interactions per G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Register guests, issue keys, provide information; answer phones promptly.
• Process cash/credit transactions, deposits, and reports per procedures.
• Maintain security of cash, transactions, and guest data.
• Assist with reservations, from individuals to groups; upsell where possible.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategy for room pricing and type.
• Promote teamwork and quality service across shifts.
• Serve shoppe and pour; comply with alcohol sale laws.
• Fulfill guest special requests and ensure service delivery.
• Issue and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Comply with health, safety, and alcohol regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
