Job summary

The City of Manhattan, Kansas is seeking a Guest Services Attendant who will be the first contact for guests, providing friendly, accurate information and handling admissions, rentals, and program fees.

The role requires daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday availability, cash handling and data entry, front-desk duties at gift store or concession areas, and maintaining a clean, welcoming guest services environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Natural Sciences, History, or related field.
• One to three years’ experience in cash handling and customer service.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs front-desk duties at the gift store; assists customers and maintains appearance of guest services related locations.
• Greets and engages with and assists the guests/public with questions with warmth and professionalism.
• Educates guests about the division mission and other topics including exhibits, memberships, and events.
• Answers a multi-line phone system and routes calls with timely follow-through.
• Operates cash drawer and credit card machine with accurate money handling.
• Promotes and educates about membership value; processes admissions and daily deposits.
