The Study at University of Chicago is seeking a Guest Service Agent to join our Guest Services team in Chicago, IL. This role balances check-in/check-out duties with guest inquiries, reservations, and payments while delivering genuine hospitality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of customer-facing, hospitality, or service experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, efficient, and attentive hospitality to guests throughout their stay.
• Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures, including room assignments and payments.
• Manage reservations, room availability, guest profiles, and room assignments in the PMS.
• Answer inquiries by phone and in person with accurate information about accommodations, services, rates, and availability.
• Assist with reservation requests and use selling techniques to support occupancy and room revenue.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and coordinate with departments for follow-through.
• Provide information and recommendations regarding hotel services and local area.
• Assist with transportation arrangements, wake-up calls, and other guest needs.
• Address guest concerns and billing questions professionally; involve leadership when needed.
• Post room charges and other transactions; follow cash-handling procedures.
• Maintain VIP guest awareness and communicate shift handoffs clearly.
