Job summary

The TPS Group Holdings LLC-owned Paper Store is seeking an experienced Department Manager in Reading, MA to lead a high-performing team and drive sales while upholding the G.U.E.S.T. service standards.

This role requires coaching staff, managing payroll within budget, and ensuring consistent store presentation and operational efficiency. You will greet customers, uncover needs with open questions, explain product benefits, and suggest add-ons, while maintaining TPS values and policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in specialty retail preferred.
• Ability to multi task while attending customers.
• Willingness to travel to new store openings, remodels, etc.

Responsibilities

• Act as a TPS Champion by modeling the GUEST service approach and delivering World Class Service.
• Greet and welcome every customer warmly and with enthusiasm.
• Understand customer needs by asking open-ended questions.
• Explain product features and benefits in relation to customer needs with in-depth knowledge.
• Suggest additional items to build on sales using effective techniques.
• Lead and motivate the team daily with positive feedback and TPS recognition programs.
• Maintain a positive work environment and uphold confidentiality and dress code.
• Demonstrate sound judgement for decisions benefiting customers and store operations.
• Train and cross-train staff across departments to support leadership bench strength.
• Complete directives from Store Leader, Merchandiser or District Manager within timelines.
