Job summary

AC Hotel Chicago Downtown is seeking a Front Desk Clerk to warmly greet guests, handle check-in/out, and provide prompt, courteous service that sets the tone for every stay.

Based near the Magnificent Mile, this role requires strong communication, cash handling, and problem-solving skills, with opportunities to grow within Marcus Hotels & Resorts and transfer across properties while delivering personalized service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Guest/customer service experience required.
• Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to input information using a moderately complex computer system.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and manage check-in/check-out with prompt, courteous service.
• Handle reservations, inquiries, and complaints using hotel systems.
• Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure and resolve guest issues.
• Build strong guest relationships through personalized service and local knowledge.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills in person and on the phone.
• Manage financial transactions and cash handling accurately.
• Multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform various administrative duties to support hotel operations.
