Land’s End Resort in Homer, AK, is seeking a Food Service Worker to perform cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking and serving on campus. The role requires availability for open to close shifts and supports a 117-room hotel on the Homer campus.

Key duties include preparing and serving hot and cold foods, operating the POS system, assisting customers, handling inventory, keeping work areas clean, and following uniform and safety guidelines. No supervisory responsibilities are involved.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire.
• Six (6) months of training or experience that includes professional food handling or food preparation responsibilities.
• Six (6) months of cashier experience.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Preference will be given to the candidate with a minimum of two (2) years of consecutive employment in a similar operation with comparable responsibilities.
• Two (2) years of customer service experience.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and serve hot and cold food in a friendly manner.
• Provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
• Assist customers as requested with general information, inquiries, etc.
• Obtain products requested by customers.
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) to record price, compile printed list, and display costs.
• May assist with inventory of items.
• Maintain a variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
• Help with food service record keeping and reporting necessary data to manager.
• Keep the retail area clean, stocked, and tidy at all times.
• Wash food service area objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and place in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
• Help keep dining room tables clean.
• Neat and clean personal appearance.
• Follow dress code according to department policies.
• Stock various condiments and service ware.
• Clean, sweep, mop and wipe down all general food service areas and equipment.
• May remove garbage from assigned areas, set up, or breaks down tables, etc.
• Assist with various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
• May stock back storage areas with various products.
• Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success may also be assigned.
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
