Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire.
• Six months of barista experience.
• Six months of training or experience in food handling or preparation.
• Six months of cashier experience.
• Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with information, inquiries, food and beverage selections and recommendations.
• Brew beverages and other drinks using espresso machines, urns and blended drinks.
• Prepare food following standard food handling procedures and safety rules.
• Input sales into the POS system and process transactions accurately.
• Count cash drawers and assist with deposits.
• Monitor inventory and stock levels and communicate needs to the manager.
• Follow cash handling policies and procedures and resolve issues with quality or quantity of food served.
• Keep work areas clean and sanitized; clean equipment and surfaces.
• Assist with large periodic cleaning projects as needed.
• Note: no supervisory duties are included.
