Job summary

maman is seeking a friendly Counter Server to greet guests, handle orders at the counter, and manage pastry displays with care. You’ll contribute to a warm, fast-paced experience while following SOPs and safety standards. Prior POS experience and a positive, team-oriented attitude are essential for success.

This on-site role requires weekend and holiday availability in Hoboken, and offers a supportive, growth-minded environment with entry-level opportunities in a thriving bakery and café brand.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or hospitality.
• Ability to learn and retain menu items, ingredients and allergy information.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first mindset.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks (lift up to 25 lbs).
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and events as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as welcoming first point of contact for maman guests.
• Operate the POS system accurately and cash handling.
• Follow steps of service in every interaction.
• Maintain and stock counter, pastry display, and retail products.
• Support baristas and front-of-house during peak times.
• Collaborate with FOH and BOH to ensure smooth service.
