Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant retail experience may be considered.
• Strong interpersonal and courteous communication with customers.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, change, tax and balancing.
• Ability to read and apply company procedures.
• Team oriented; follow directions from management.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm during peak times.
• Experience operating kitchen equipment like microwaves and ovens.
• Must monitor gas pumps and ensure safe transactions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in coolers.
• Read alpha-numeric data on registers and documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate, attentive customer service to every shopper.
• Participate in company promotions and programs.
• Complete required training within specified periods.
• Complete specialized training on food preparation, handling and storage.
• Know promotions and upsell to increase sales.
• Receive payments and give back change.
• Operate cash register, card scanners, and lottery machines.
• Monitor gas pumps and ensure safe and accurate transactions.
• Accurately prepare deli orders.
• Follow Serve-Safe and portion control standards.
• Control deli waste, spoilage, and inventory dates.
• Read data on registers and documents.
• Maintain temperature logs and safety checks.
