Job summary

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and answer questions in a polite, professional manner.
• Operate front-end scanning equipment and cash register; bag merchandise and assist customers.
• Ensure accurate checkout with proper handling of cash, checks, electronic payments and coupons; follow tobacco/alcohol sale laws.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, promotions, and store layout to assist customers.
• Keep department and rank areas clean, meet OSHA requirements; dispose of trash properly.
• Cooperate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth department/store operation; wear PPE as required.
• May assist in other departments as needed.
