Job summary

Acme Hospitality Group, operating a collection of acclaimed food & beverage concepts and boutique hotels in California, is hiring a server/barista for our quick-service locations. You will take orders, process payments, and deliver food and beverages promptly with a focus on friendly, efficient service.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, describing menu items, upselling, coordinating with kitchen and bar staff, handling special requests, and maintaining a clean dining area.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience as a Server and/or Barista in a restaurant
• Extensive knowledge of food and beverage menus
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math for orders and payments
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• RBS or similar certification for responsible alcohol service is required
• Current Food Handler Certification

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and escort them to tables, present menus
• Provide detailed explanations of menu items, specials, ingredients and preparation
• Assist guests in selecting food and drinks based on preferences and dietary restrictions
• Take accurate orders using a POS system and communicate with kitchen/bar staff
• Communicate all special requests, allergies, or modifications to the kitchen
• Serve food and beverages promptly with proper presentation and quality
• Monitor tables, refill drinks, clear plates, and provide utensils as needed
• Prepare and serve specialty drinks and scoops of ice cream
• Respond to guest inquiries about food, beverages, and services
• Upsell menu items to enhance dining experience and revenue
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when needed
• Process payments accurately (cash, cards, POS)
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth coordination
• Maintain clean and organized dining area and proper table settings
• Follow health and safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
