Job summary

The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) is seeking a Front of House Manager to lead daily restaurant operations in Medora, North Dakota. You will work hands-on with the front of house team during service, train and coach employees, coordinate with back-of-house leadership, and ensure a welcoming, efficient guest experience.

Responsibilities include scheduling, maintaining service standards, resolving guest concerns, and promoting TRMF offerings.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication; lead shift direction.
• Punctual with regular attendance, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong leadership; coach staff and maintain guest relations.
• Teamwork; collaborate with FOH, kitchen, and management.
• Guest-service oriented; anticipate needs and resolve issues.
• Knowledge of service standards and menu knowledge.
• Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management.
• Able to operate POS systems and perform manager functions as policy.
• Maintain personal hygiene and grooming per policy.
• Fluent English; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Onboard and coach front-of-house staff; communicate daily expectations.
• Assist seating guests and coordinate front/back of house during service.
• Ensure dining room cleanliness, table presentation, food quality, order accuracy, and timing; address issues.
• Engage guests; respond to questions or concerns and resolve complaints.
• Prepare weekly schedules based on anticipated business volume and labor guidelines.
• Monitor FOH inventory, receive deliveries, minimize waste, place orders per budget.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and brief reservations, events, and staffing priorities.
• Monitor reservations, seating, wait times, and dining room flow; adjust staffing.
• Maintain menu knowledge for staff and guests.
• Complete shift reports and cash-handling controls; opening/closing reconciliations.
• Participate in safety meetings; report hazards.
• Promote restaurant offerings and events; provide enthusiastic information to guests.
• Maintain positive relationships with guests and team.
• Perform other related duties as required.
