Job summary

Iron Cactus is seeking a guest-focused Host to greet guests, seat them, and create a positive first impression. You will help maintain the dining room ambiance with energetic yet unobtrusive pacing and be the friendly liaison between guests and the team.

This role requires a neat appearance, 16+ years of age, and the ability to communicate needs clearly. You’ll handle seating logistics, assist on the floor, and support managers in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Age 16 years or older.
• Courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor.
• Able to pass quizzes and tests, and complete workbook assignments.
• Neatly dressed and well-groomed in company-approved attire.
• Stands and walks during 6–8 hour shift; reaches, bends, stoops, and wipes.
• Articulates clear greetings and farewells to guests; understands requests for assistance.
• Clearly communicates guests’ needs to team members and managers.
• Able to hear well in a loud environment to answer calls and respond to requests.
• May be required to carry trays or supplies (10–30 lbs).
• Calmly respond to angry guests and notify manager.

Responsibilities

• Greet, seat, and manage the seating list efficiently.
• Rotate seating effectively and communicate with team and management.
• Be organized and professional; welcome new hires.
• Show urgency and walk with purpose.
• Perform restroom checks and safety procedures.
• Complete back-up, shift-change, or closing duties.
• Restock supplies and discuss issues with management.
• Inform supervisor of problems promptly.
• Maintain good relations with staff and vendors.
