Job summary

Pine Hall, Detroit, the first US outpost of Union Square Hospitality Group, invites a Host to welcome guests and support the dining room during service. You’ll work with the Maître D’ to manage pacing, assist servers, and ensure a smooth guest experience in a lively tavern setting.

Candidates should enjoy guest interaction, be able to stand and lift up to 30 lbs, and communicate clearly. Experience is preferred but not required, with opportunities to grow within a renowned hospitality family.

Qualifications

• Experience in a guest-facing role preferred, but not required.
• Lunch shifts availability is preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to balance & carry multiple plates, glassware, and lift up to 30 lbs.
• English fluency; additional languages preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality.
• Create a welcoming environment for guests in person or over the phone.
• Quote accurate wait times with Maître D’ and assist guests.
• Answer inquiries about hours, menus, and reservations.
• Maintain service steps and assist with table maintenance and reset.
• Know menu items and mise en place for each dish.
