Job summary

Union Joints in Clarkston, Michigan, seeks a friendly Host to greet guests at the door, seat them, and present menus in a fast, professional manner. This role starts the guest experience with warmth and attentiveness, mirroring our 1840s church heritage on Main Street.

You will manage the waiting list, quote accurate wait times, monitor the floor plan, and assist with to-go orders when needed. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, stays organized, and keeps restrooms and dining areas clean,

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with guests and team members.
• Able to read, write, and determine wait times per Company procedures.
• Able to visually scan restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and seating guests, presenting menus to guests
• Treating guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction
• Taking names on a waiting list
• Running the floor plan board
• Observing tables and keeping track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables
• Taking guest information and quoting wait time to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
• Cleaning, organizing, and stocking menus at host area
• Answering phone and answering questions concerning the menu and restaurant
• Interacting with guests coming in and as they leave, ensuring a positive dining experience
• Taking and filling to go orders, if applicable
• Maintaining restrooms throughout shift
• Performing other duties as assigned
