Job summary

TSFR Applebee’s in Highland Park, MI is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests, seat them, and help maintain smooth dining room flow. This role supports servers and contributes to a welcoming environment for every guest.

This position requires excellent customer service, a friendly personality, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. You should be able to stand for long periods and assist with basic table/bathroom upkeep as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and the ability to work as a team.

• Follow appropriate food safety guidelines.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.

• Ability to transport and carry objects such as a high chair or booster seat.
• Ability to wipe, sweep and carry plates to kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant.
• Seat guests according to the established plan and guests’ needs.
• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean.
• Ensure menus remain clean and stocked.
• Complete restroom checks and refill paper products in bathrooms.
• Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area and reset the table.
• Assist servers by taking initial drink orders or running food to guests.
• Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment.
