Job summary

IHOP in Glendale, AZ is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests promptly and seat them as tables become available. You’ll play a key role in creating a cheerful dining atmosphere by maintaining clean waiting areas and coordinating seating with the team.

No prior experience is required. The role includes answering phones, taking to-go orders, and assisting with daily restaurant duties while upholding IHOP standards and a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos and guest checks.
• Ability to read and speak English to communicate with guests and team.
• Ability to stand for long periods and carry trays or pass items.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests within minutes of arrival and seat them cheerfully.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with IHOP staff and guests.
• Rotate station seating to ensure quality service.
• Handle guest complaints politely and invite them to return.
• Answer phones, take messages, and process To Go orders.
• Maintain a waiting list as needed.
• Check restrooms hourly for cleanliness and stock.
• Clear, clean and reset tables, chairs and floors after guests leave.
• Perform cleaning duties per charts and IHOP standards.
• Follow IHOP uniform and appearance guidelines.
• Assist the General Manager or supervisor with other tasks.
