Job summary

Crystal Mountain in Michigan is seeking a welcoming Host to join our Food and Beverage team. You will greet guests at the door, seat them promptly, present menus, and keep the host stand clean and organized throughout the shift.

You should be able to handle busy periods with a friendly attitude, communicate with guests and staff clearly, and assist guests with special seating requests while maintaining a smooth flow of dining room operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a restaurant is preferred.
• Point of sale (POS) system experience is preferred.
• Ability to count back change and perform basic math.
• Strong organizational skills and time management.
• Excellent verbal and telephone communication with guests.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional conduct aligned with company values.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and interact in a professional manner.
• Seat guests promptly and present menus; clear unnecessary settings.
• Provide estimated wait times and accommodate seating preferences.
• Balance guest flow and seat guests by party size and needs.
• Assist guests with high chairs and accessibility needs.
• Answer questions and help resolve guest concerns.
• Respond to calls and questions from guests courteously.
• Share resort information and local knowledge with guests.
• Maintain a clean, organized host stand and menus.
• Coordinate with kitchen and staff to ensure smooth dining flow.
• Maintain a legible wait list and track table availability.
• Inspect dining room cleanliness and prepare host area for next shift.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Operate POS for to-go orders if applicable.
• Be familiar with emergency safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
