Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in Salt Lake City is seeking a friendly Host/Hostess to provide warm, professional information and support to guests during reservations and seating for daily service. You will act as an advocate for the restaurant, creating memorable experiences and building guest relationships that encourage return visits.

The role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Able to learn menu, product and allergy information for guests.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant POS and reservation systems.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a passion for hospitality.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays when needed.
• Food Handler Certification (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Greet restaurant guests and be knowledgeable about the area.
• Coordinate fair and consistent seating of guests.
• Accurately handle paperwork, stock and tidy the host stand.
• Receive incoming calls and accurately book reservations.
• Take room service orders if applicable.
• Check floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness; assist in bussing.
• Help servers by refilling beverages when needed.
• Perform other restaurant and customer service related requests for guests.
