Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in Portland is seeking an enthusiastic restaurant host to welcome guests, coordinate reservations, and provide warm, concierge-level service in our Portland venue.

You will greet guests, manage seating, assist servers, and help create memorable experiences with a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Prior hospitality experience and a passion for guest satisfaction are a must.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Able to learn, retain, and present product, menu and allergy information to guests.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point-of-sale system and reservation system.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Greet all restaurant guests and provide information when asked.
• Provide fair and consistent seating of guests.
• Accurately handle paperwork, stock and tidy the host stand.
• Receive incoming calls and accurately book reservations for guests.
• Take room service orders if applicable.
• Check floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness; assist in bussing tables.
• Help servers by refilling beverages when needed.
• Perform other restaurant and customer service related requests.
• Be flexible and may take on duties outside of the listed responsibilities.
