Job summary

Ruby Tuesday in Greenville, NC is seeking a Server Assistant to warmly welcome guests, seat them using the TMS, and assist the service team to ensure guests leave satisfied.

You will greet guests, manage waits, inform them about features, and help with delivering food and refills while maintaining clean areas and practicing safe food handling. Flexibility for nights and weekends is needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• No prior work experience required.
• Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
• Ability to understand and comply with proper food handling and serving techniques and with federal, state and local serving regulations.
• Ability to process cash handling, credit card and room charge transactions in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Ability to operate a computer, calculator, phone and other office equipment.
• Attention to details with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
• Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to proper procedures for utilizing the TMS system to control guest seating and manage wait lists.
• Maintain a welcoming and friendly attitude as part of a teamwork-based environment.
• Greet guests, assign tables using TMS, and manage expectations if there is a wait.
• Inform guests about current features and promotions and offer menu suggestions.
• Assist team by delivering food and beverages, pre-bussing and refilling when possible.
• Set up, maintain and operate the server assistant stand and front lobby area.
• Answer the phone and assist guests with questions in a friendly manner.
• Deliver correct drinks and food to guests as needed.
• Practice safe food handling and cleanliness standards.
• Bag and manage takeout orders and check for accuracy.
• Ensure guests receive a friendly farewell and solicit feedback.
• Monitor tables and maintain clean, occupied, and unoccupied tables; clean as needed.
• Accommodate guests’ needs and requests such as refilling beverages or providing silverware.
