Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Front Desk Agent in California to greet guests, manage check-in/out, and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience across all touchpoints. You will manage reservations, upsell opportunities, process payments, and respond to guest requests while upholding safety procedures and brand standards at the front desk.

Flexibility for night shifts and weekends is required, and prior front desk or guest service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Communication skills for guest concerns and compliments
• Strong problem-solving to turn issues into memories
• Fluency in local language
• Tech-savvy with basic math and computers
• Flexibility for night, weekend and holiday shifts
• High school diploma required; college degree a plus
• Experience in front desk or guest service for at least 1 year
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and be physically able to bend and kneel

Responsibilities

• Be the warm welcome that starts a memorable guest experience.
• Manage guest bookings, upsell opportunities, and share ways to improve stay.
• Handle cash and card transactions with accuracy.
• Check guests in and out, verify IDs, and issue keys.
• Record guest preferences and respond to requests and inquiries.
• Be the trusted contact for guests and coordinate with management when needed.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required gear.
• Represent the brand with appearance and service.
