Hy-Vee is seeking a Self-Checkout Clerk to help keep the front end running smoothly. You will guide customers through self-checkout, assist at lanes, and ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently.

The role emphasizes friendly service, calm under pressure, and teamwork. Training is provided, and full-time/part-time shifts may be available in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• No education or experience required; training provided.
• Perform arithmetic with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Follow written or verbal instructions and communicate needs.
• Work effectively as part of a team to deliver customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and guide them through self-checkout.
• Assist at self-checkout lanes and ensure accurate processing.
• Handle payments (cash, cards, checks, coupons, SNAP, WIC).
• Count change, issue receipts, and process refunds as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper shelf presentation.
• Follow policies on tobacco, liquor, and lottery sales.
• Support promotions, displays, and special events.
• Report to work on schedule and pass pre-employment drug screen.
