Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Front End Clerk to provide prompt, friendly customer service and operate self-checkout registers and service counter. You will stock, face, and rotate merchandise, and handle cash transactions with accuracy.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, processing refunds, issuing receipts, and following store policies on tobacco, liquor, WIC, and other items. This role requires teamwork and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Less than High School or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to carry out arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Operates and monitors self-checkout registers and service counter.
• Stocks, faces, rotates merchandise, cleans shelves.
• Processes refunds, handles cash transactions, issues receipts.
• Knows value, lookup numbers, department numbers and features of items.
