Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Gillette, WY is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions, and maintain a clean environment. You will handle POS, various tenders, and follow store policies to prevent loss while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers as a visible cashier/checker.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and coupons per policy.
• Follow company loss prevention guidelines and adhere to cash handling limits.
• Comply with guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow checkout procedures.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations and safety programs.
• Inspect equipment, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management as needed.
• Provide product information and assistance to customers throughout the store.
