Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Tempe, AZ seeks an experienced server to warmly greet guests, take orders, and deliver exceptional dining room service in a high-volume setting.

You will maintain knowledge of menus and beverage offerings, input orders into MICROS, and uphold accurate cash handling while ensuring guest satisfaction.

Flexibility for weekends/holidays and a courteous, professional demeanor are required; unexpired certifications (Food Handlers, TABC per hire) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year serving experience, high volume sports/live entertainment bar experience preferred.
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TABC – or obtain upon hire.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting specialty cocktails.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
• Take orders and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections, and daily specials.
• Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests.
• Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order and adhere to cash handling standards.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
• Present accurate check to guest and process payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Process station set-up and break-down and complete all other side work duties as assigned.
