Job summary

GFS Group is recruiting for the Human Resource Assistant Apprentice program in Hagåtña, Guam. This on-site, one-year U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship blends structured education with paid on-the-job learning through Guam Community College.

The program spans 2,000 hours of paid on-the-job learning and 180 hours of related instruction, delivered via Guam Community College. It is an onsite role located in Hagåtña, GU 96932 with a starting pay of USD 13 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must hold a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must register as a job seeker on HireGuam.
• Must meet the employer’s selection procedures, including the Alternative Selection Method.

Responsibilities

• Process, verify, and maintain personnel documentation including recruitment, training, grievances, evaluations, and leave records.
• Record detailed personnel information such as earnings, attendance, production, evaluations, and terminations.
• Provide employees and applicants with information on HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
• Interview applicants to collect information used for hiring evaluation.
• Review employment applications, evaluate qualifications, notify applicants, and refer candidates to hiring personnel.
• Administer and score applicant assessments.
• Assist with administering employee benefits and worker’s compensation documentation.
• Prepare materials for new employee orientation sessions.
• Compile HR reports and maintain personnel records across departments.
• Request background information from previous employers, references, or agencies.
• Retrieve authorized information from personnel databases and physical files.
• Prepare employee badges, passes, and identification documentation.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating staff training activities.
