Job summary

Anthropic is hiring a Strategy & Operations Lead for Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) in San Francisco. You will partner with FDE leadership to own headcount, capacity, and the mix of engagements, shaping the operating plan and measurement framework.

You’ll collaborate with Finance, Deal Desk, Legal, Revenue Ops and Applied AI, building models and dashboards and running business reviews. You’ll report to the GTM Strategy & Operations team, work closely with program leads, and drive scalable

Qualifications

• Strategy and operations background including services/implementation teams.
• Understanding of how a services business makes and loses money: utilization, staffing mix, rates, backlog and margin.
• Ability to build capacity or staffing models from scratch and pull data with SQL.
• Experience running planning cycles and business reviews for senior leaders and preparing materials.
• Experience turning unclear questions into recommendations, decisions and repeatable processes.
• Ability to earn trust of senior technical and commercial leaders and influence without authority.
• Comfort with fast-paced work using imperfect data and simple processes.
• Experience using AI tools in daily work and pushing their use further.
• Excitement about Anthropic's mission to build safe and beneficial AI

Responsibilities

• Own the plan for FDE: headcount, capacity, region mix, and engagement types.
• Model demand, capacity and staffing with scenario planning for leadership decisions.
• Lead monthly/quarterly business reviews; set KPIs and produce leadership scorecards.
• Build reporting with Revenue Ops and Data Science; automate workflows with Claude.
• Shape the commercial model: pricing, packing, discounts and contract terms.
• Plan delivery partnerships: scope, capacity, and economics with partners.
• Design org structure with FDE leadership and People; map headcount growth.
• Lead cross-functional projects spanning Sales, Applied AI, Customer Success, Product and Research.
• Use Claude Code and agents to build and run models and dashboards
