Job summary

OpenAI's Compensation team is expanding to build the compensation pillar for the go-to-market organization. This hands-on, individual-contributor role turns evolving business needs into scalable programs.

You will partner with GTM leaders, HR Business Partners, Recruiting, Finance, and cross-functional teams to lead benchmarking, offer reviews, program design, and job architecture for a fast-growing commercial business. The role blends strategy with execution to enable scale.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of compensation experience, with GTM or commercial focus.
  • Strong expertise in sales compensation and benchmarking.
  • Experience designing compensation programs in fast-growing orgs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to translate data into practical recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve compensation programs that support OpenAI’s growing GTM organization.
  • Serve as a trusted compensation advisor to GTM leaders, HRBPs, Recruiting, and Finance.
  • Lead compensation analysis and approval for offers, balancing market context and internal consistency.
  • Own benchmarking and market analysis for GTM roles and translate insights into scalable practices.
  • Partner on the design and optimization of sales compensation programs and job architecture.
  • Develop approaches that adapt to changing priorities and growth.
  • Move between strategy and execution, building processes where needed.
  • Collaborate with the broader Compensation team to share insights.
