Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is hiring for a 2nd shift welder in Wilson, NC. You will set up and operate GTAW welding equipment, perform welding on thin-gauge materials, and inspect weld quality to AWS D17.1 standards while following safety and compliance guidelines.

Responsibilities include training other welders, interpreting technical documents, and using computer-controlled welding equipment as needed. A HS diploma or GED and 1+ years of GTAW experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.
• 1+ years GTAW welding experience.
• 1+ years welding fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment per drawings and WPS ranges.
• Perform manual, semiautomatic, mechanized GTAW welding on thin-gauge materials.
• Inspect welds using calipers, micrometers, borescopes and gages; repair welds per rejection sheets and NDT analysis.
