Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking a skilled Welder for a 3rd shift position in Wilson, NC. You will set up and operate GTAW welding equipment, assemble parts in fixtures, weld thin-gauge materials, and inspect welds to ensure quality per AWS D17.1 criteria.

The role requires 1+ year GTAW welding experience and ability to read blueprints. Expect strong manual dexterity and safe work habits; training on 1st shift may occur, with 11:00 PM–7:00 AM schedule.

Qualifications

• 1+ years GTAW welding experience and 1+ years welding fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to pass visual acuity test and meet safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate GTAW welding equipment per drawings and WPS ranges.
• Clean filler/base material using tools and solvents before welding.
• Perform welding on thin-gauge materials including 4130 steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
• Inspect welds to criteria and measure with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Follow safety, EHS, and compliance requirements and maintain a clean area.
• Assist in training other welders and operate computer-controlled welding equipment as needed.
